Hello, welcome to Ds Education Centre. My name is Claire and I am one of the full-time tutors teaching various courses in Ds Education Centre. I completed my B.A at Nanjing Normal University, China in 1984. After I immigrated to Canada in 2004, I got my TESOL Certificate from Vancouver Community College, British Columbia in Feb. 2007. I am always proud of my career as an English teacher both in China and in Canada. During the twenty years' teaching in China, I was honoured as one of the leading teachers in English subject in Wuxi, China in 2001. I made so many efforts to make myself a successful ESL teacher to both teenagers and adults. From 1994 to 2004, I compiled several books on English learning-- “A Guide Book on English Writing for High School Students",“the High Efficiency in Raising the Students’ Skill in Learning”---English for Senior Grade Two, Concise English Grammar for Examinations, and A Concise English-Chinese and Chinese-English Dictionary for the High School students, etc.

After I started to work in DECC in 2006, I've always felt so happy to tutor adults in listening and speaking courses and even from the very basic course- Phonics. I have compiled text-books of Listening and Speaking Level I, Basic English and Phonics, etc for Ds Education Centre.

My favourite activities include hiking, swimming and internet. Also I am computer "expert" in using many kinds of software. However, meeting and teaching more students who are eager to learn English is my favourite thing to do. I am looking forward to meeting you in my classes.

中國南京師範大學外文系畢業。江蘇省教育學會外語教學專業委員會會員，省級英語學科帶頭人，長期從事全國重點高中英語教學，並被聘為教育電視臺網上實驗學校名師課堂輔導教師和成人大學的英語老師。英語基本功扎實，口語標準純正。通過二十年的教學實踐，積累了極為豐富的教學經驗，講課條理清晰，邏輯性極強，使學生受益非淺，深受學生愛戴。多篇論文在中國教育類核心期刊上發表，並且也主編了多部英語教學書籍，如：《中學生英語寫作指津》《同步高效能力訓練從書》《高中英語應試語法》等。定居加拿大後又考取了加拿大ESL教學證書，希望幫助更多的學生突破英語難關！

Hello! My name is Geoff Lupton and I am a member of the DS Education Centre team. I teach Speaking and Listening. I would like to introduce myself. I was born in Montreal but I also lived near Toronto and in Ottawa before I moved to Richmond in 1997. After I finished secondary school, I attended Carleton University in Ottawa for 4 years, where I completed my degree in History and Political Science.

After my university, I pursued more college education in Business Administration in Ottawa. In 1997, I decided to become an ESL instructor and I completed my TESL training at Winfield College in Vancouver in 1998. During this time, I also worked as a private English tutor in Richmond and as a volunteer ESL tutor with Vancouver Community College. From 2001 to 2007, I taught English classes, such as TOEFL courses, at Vancouver International College.

In my free time, I enjoy physical fitness activities like cycling, walking and exercising. I am also interested in music, movies, books, travel and the Internet. I look forward to meeting students in my classes! Welcome to DS Education Centre!

Hello. My name is Amy Jiang. I was born and grew up in Shandong Province mainland China. I studied for seven years in School of Foreign Languages, Shandong University, where I completed my B.A. and M.A. degrees in English Language and Literature. With an interest in English Language and English teaching, I worked as an associate professor in School of Foreign Languages, Shandong University from 1993 to 2006. The courses I taught included Reading, Writing, Grammar, the History of English Literature and Learning English through Film Appreciation. Meanwhile, I participated in training programs to prepare students for TOEFL (pen-based test).

I worked under the Canada General Study program in Shandong University from 2000 to 2006. I taught the Reading part of internet-based TOEFL. More than 90 percent of the students I taught were admitted into Canadian universities. I received training from the National Test Center for Overseas Test in Beijing in May, 2006 and then worked as center supervisor for iBT in the Test Center at Shandong University. I have been working as a TOEFL/IELTS instructor since I came to Vancouver in 2007. I love working with DS Education Center and enjoy the classes with students here. I like to watch TV, read novels and browse the internet in my free time.

懷著對英語語言和教學的濃厚興趣，在山東大學就讀七年，先後獲得英語語言文學學士和碩士學位。畢業後，留校任副教授，曾擔任大學專業英語閱讀，語法，寫作，影視欣賞等多種課程。與此同時承擔託福培訓課程，對託福試題各個部分瞭若指掌。

2000年受聘于山東大學加拿大教育基礎部，承擔託福培訓專案，培訓後的學生被加拿大大學順利錄取。 2006年在北京接受國家考試中心海外處託福網考培訓，自此擔任山東大學海外考試中心主考工作，對目前託福的IBT考試非常熟悉。業餘時間喜歡讀書，看報、看電視及上網流覽。

扎實的理論基礎和多年的教學經驗相結合，形成了獨特的教學風格。講課思路清晰，主題突出，條理明確，言簡意賅，使學生易於理解和掌握，成績提高顯著，受到好評。

2002年在加拿大維多利亞大學（University of Victoria）獲教育碩士學位。

來加前任北京林業大學英文講師；來加後，任多家語言學院的英文教師。

20年的英語教學經驗，使她將東、西方的教育理論和教學實踐相結合，總結出獨特的教學方法，使學生英語水準大幅提高。

I was born and raised in British Columbia. I completed my BA at UBC and later transferred into the faculty of education. In 1994 I completed my M.A. in education at San Diego State University in California. In 1996 I was appointed principal of Watson Elementary in Chilliwack. In 1979,I became principal of a school in Goldbridge. Later I was principal of George M. Murray and Riverview Schools in Lillooet. I retired in 2004. Later I completed the TESOL Certificate program at Vancouver Community College because I enjoy to be a teacher and with those students.

My favorite activities in include walking on the beach, swimming, skiing and canoeing, I enjoy being around the water, I also enjoy learning about different cultures and different forms of communication. I have enjoyed getting to know the staff and students at DS Education Centre, and I look forward to everyone working and learning together.

我從小生活在BC省。在UBC獲得本科學位之後，轉入教育系。1994年，我在美國加利福尼亞州的聖地牙哥州立大學獲得教育碩士學位。1996年，我在Chilliwack被任命為Watson小學的校長。1979年，我成為Goldbridge一所學校的校長。之後，我在BC省Lillooet的George M. Murray and Riverview Schools 擔任校長。我在2004年就退休了。之後，我在VCC完成了TESOL資格證書的學習，因為我喜歡當老師，喜歡和學生在一起。

Yvonne Lo graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Linguistics from University of Lancaster in England. She also has a first class honors degree in English and Chinese Literary Studies.

Other than teaching various English communication skills and Business Chinese at Singapore tertiary institutions for almost 20 years, she also conducts specialized training sessions for organizations in Asia. Yvonne is dedicated in making learning effective, with a great enthusiasm towards classroom as well as one-on-one teaching for students of all levels and ages.

Her current interests include Life Management Techniques and Cross Cultural Differences in Interpersonal Skills. She has developed instructional materials in ESL, Para-linguistics and Interviewing Skills.

畢業于英國蘭卡斯特大學(Lancaster University, UK，英國排名前十名大學)，擁有語言學碩士學位。曾在新加坡大學，中學和小學任教。積累了近20年的英語教學和漢語教學經驗。編寫出各類語言教材，並在各國不同媒體發表過學術論文。

在加拿大學校任教期間，擅長為學生作一對一功課輔導。熟悉TOEFL、LPI 、SAT等課程教授及大學預科輔導。對幫助學生儘快適應加拿大教學環境，課程安排，突破各門功課難點，有獨到見解，深受學生歡迎。

畢業于雲南師範大學英語專業，擁有英語文學學士學位。曾分別在小學、中學、大學執教多年，積累了豐富的教學經驗。另外在劍橋少兒英語培訓，珠心算，手指算等培訓方面頗有見術。

來加後，曾在多所學校任教，熟悉加拿大中、小學教育體系。擅長中、小學生功課輔導，幫助學生儘快適應加拿大教學環境，突破ESL及其他功課難點，教學成效顯著深受學生及家長歡迎。

as a Senior English teacher in Beijing Jingshan School, Anping Zhu has been teaching for more than 30 years. Other than graduating from Beijing TV and Broadcast University and Beijing Teachers' Training University, her finished Adult education of Beijing Normal Education University and Education and Psychology of Boston University in America. he has been interested in teaching Mandarin and English bilingually to different students ever since then. In order to improve their language level, he's thoroughly enjoyed working on the study of various methodologies and accumulated much experience of teaching. He firmly believes that learning interest could build up abilities for more and further language study which needs to adapt to its use and practice. Being able to handle and multiple responsibilities, set priorities, communicate ideas with others and respond positively to demanding situations for teaching, he prefers the team work with which he says he can learn a lot from others.
